River Landing Developing 1.5 Acre Park on County Land
Along with dooming the fate of the historic Bay Harbor Continental, Miami-Dade County Commissioners did something arguably more positive last night. They gave an acre and a half of Miami River-front land valued at over $4 million a nonprofit affiliated with the developers of the River Landing megaproject, which will be used as a park. It comes with the provisos that the developer invest $4 million in the site "within three years on greenway and seawall improvements" according to the Real Deal, and that they are prohibited from developing the donated land. "There can be no building, no Starbucks, no nothing. This is meant to be a Riverwalk."
