Bunnie Cakes, the vegan, gluten-free and kosher bakery, is expanding, with plans to open a kiosk at Aventura Mall.
The popular brand, which launched its flagship store in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood about two years ago, will open its second location on Aug. 1.
Bunnie Cakes owner Mariana Cortez said the decision was driven by customers in Aventura who have been asking her to open a store there.

The new, 80-square-foot kiosk, across from Aventura Mall’s Rainbow Valley by Friends With You playground, will stock large and mini cupcakes, donuts, whoopee pies, cookies, brownies, small cakes and cakes in a jar, plus beverages including coffee, tea, water and natural sodas. It will also have tables and chairs for seating.
Bunnie Cakes, featured on The Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars,” sells its wares at its shop at 2322 Northeast Second Avenue in Miami, as well as Green Gables Cafe, Juice and Java, Panther Coffee, Temple Kitchen, Apple A Day, Guarapo Juice Bar, the Honey Tree, Milam’s Markets in Coral Gables and Coconut Grove, and Vegetarian Restaurant by Hakim. — Ina Cordle
