The home, at 584 Ocean Boulevard, was put up for sale in December with an asking price of $5.5 million. It went under contract in March, and the sale has closed as of Friday.

Nelson Gonzalez of Esslinger Wooten Maxwell had the listing. Nelson Gonzalez, the home’s listing agent with Esslinger Wooten Maxwell It sits on a half-acre dry lot across the street from the Atlantic Ocean.

The home, which measures 8,298 square feet, was built in 2001 and designed by the late Ricardo Legorreta — a modernist architect who worked in both the United States and his native Mexico.

His design for this Golden Beach mansion included an all-white exterior, which wraps around a large pool deck that’s shrouded in palm trees. Inside, deep-colored tiles and hardwood floors contrast the off-white walls. Modern finishes and furniture can be found throughout.

The sale, at $657 per square foot, is a relatively pricey one for a dry lot in Golden Beach. The surrounding mid-century homes have recent recorded sales prices that dip below $2 million or even $1 million. Newer construction does command higher prices, however.

Golden Beach has a population of less than 1,000. Despite its small size, the neighborhood sees a lot of real estate activity: two pre-construction spec houses sold earlier this month for $10.4 million, an unusually shaped home hit the market in March with an asking price of $8.2 million, and famed Latin singer Ricky Martin sold his waterfront manse there in 2012.
