Pharrell Williams' quest to sell his flashy penthouse stocked with pop artcontinues. The iconic rapper/producer/judge/Minion purchased the pad in 2007 for $12.525M, and has previously listed it for as high as $16.8M. Want to see how Pharrell lives? Head over to The Selby for a full photo tour. It was taken off the market last November after trying to fetch a buyer for nearly two years. In between then and now, he released a shoe with a Zaha Hadid design. According to Curbed.com, Williams bought the futuristic saucer condo at the peak of the real estate bubble. Shortly after purchasing the property, Williams was sued by the downstairs neighbor for leaky water pipes. Pharrell once described life in the penthouse like living in a "...fishbowl with a limo tint."
This circular two story penthouse that sits atop downtown Miami's waterfront Bristol Tower offers a panoramic view of both water and land. It's located on the south end of Brickell Ave within walking distance of the Rickenbacker Causeway leading to Key Biscayne, featuring primo views of Virginia Key, South Beach, and downtown Miami. The listing describes the space as 'decadent,' which is certainly a word that describes the mogul's colorful design choices. Though it is unclear from the newly posted pictures which pieces still remain in the condo, Pharrell has at different points supplied the condo with art by an eye-popping array of names including Takashi Murakami, pop art toy brand Kidrobot, Keith Haring, and Andy Warhol. The curved, thirty-foot tall walls rise into a translucent dome. The five bedroom, seven bathroom condo features around 9,000 square feet of interior living space, and an additional 5,000 square feet of outdoor pool and deck amenities. The rooms are connected via long hallways filled with pop art. Additional perks include a cozy-looking movie theatre, crisp hardwood floors and a uniquely modeled kitchen by esteemed Italian design firm Pininfarina.
Forbes lists Pharrell as the 78th highest paid celebrity of 2015, with earnings estimated at $32M. This year, he got a $7.14M glass dream house in Los Angeles and had to fork over millions in damages for 'Blurred Lines' to the family of Marvin Gaye. Perhaps, he feels, it's time to downsize. But not the hats. - Jonathan Peltz
