The former Palm Beach home of late Beatles legend John Lennon quietly sold for $23.1 million in an off-market deal, according to the Palm Beach Daily News.
Built in 1919 at 720 South Ocean Boulevard, "El Solano" was designed by Addison Mizner. The sellers were Alan and Christine Curtis, who purchased the home for $4.3 million in 1990. The couple also purchased a condo at the Palm Beach Biltmore in 2014 for $7.65 million.
The Mediterranean estate has at least five bedrooms, a tennis court, cabana building on the beach, and an unusual feature: a second-floor bridge connecting the home to its former guest house, which was deeded to the original builder's neighbor later on. That neighbor today? Novelist James A. Patterson.
Lennon and wife, Yoko Ono, purchased the mansion for $725,000 in 1980. After Lennon's murder, Ono renovated the home and sold it in 1986 for $3.2 million to Howard A. Farfard. The buyers are John and Cindy Sites, per the Daily News.
