A newly built Mediterranean mansion in Coral Gables owned by a member of the Bacardi family just hit the market asking $27.26 million, per the Wall Street Journal:
The house went on the market in 2014, before it was completed, for $18 million with another firm, and was taken off the market after failing to sell. "A house is a hard sell when it’s not completely finished," said Barbara Estela of Douglas Elliman Real Estate, who has the listing with colleagues Ysha Arteaga and Hilda Jacobson. The house was completed in May after taking about 8 years to build.
Owned by Hilda Maria Bacardi, great great granddaughter of Bacardi founder Facundo Bacardí Massó, the mammoth 21,042-square-foot estate has 13 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, and three kitchens, per the listing, with 400 feet of waterfront, an elevator, and a two-bedroom guest house.
It’s the second priciest home in the Gables behind 1 Casuarina Concourse, currently listed at $39 million.
