The developer behind the recently finished Wynwood Arcade—hello, Salty Donut—has filed plans to bring a new mixed-use development to the heart of Wynwood.
East End Capital has proposed Wynwood 25, a mixed-use project that, upon approval, will feature 289 rental apartments between Northwest 24th and 25th Streets immediately west of Northwest 2nd Avenue.
It’s on an attractive block, sandwiched between Panther Coffee to the south and Wynwood Walls to the north. The project will definitely fill a need for housing in the area and further transform the evolving warehouse district.
The 400,000-square-foot development will include 31,000 square feet of ground retail and 340 parking spots. The release describes the apartments as "highly efficient, cost-conscious apartments," most being studios and one-bedrooms, with 80 percent expected to rent for under $2,000 a month.
"Wynwood is known for its cutting-edge art, world-class restaurants, creative office and hip retailers," said Jonathon Yormak, managing principal of East End Capital. "Wynwood 25 marks the neighborhood’s next phase – an architecturally significant building that brings reasonably-priced rental housing to people who appreciate Wynwood’s unique character and want to be a part of the community."
Amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center with a yoga studio, a coffee lounge, work-from-home spaces, dog wash facilities, and 12,000 square feet of green courtyard.
Kobi Karp is the architect and it's expected to break ground in the first quarter 2017.
