Brickell single-family home listed for $5M

A single-family home in the Brickell area, the largest lot on the submarket, was recently listed for $4.88 million, The Real Deal has learned.  

Gary Hecht and Sylvia Cherry-Olozaga, of One Sotheby’s International Realty‘s Cherry Group, are listing the 7,179-square-foot gated estate, which features a heated and salt-treated infinity pool, elevator, full basement, and a covered, outdoor entertainment space with a summer kitchen, fireplace and full bath. It has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and one half-bath. “What’s unique about this house is that it’s at the entrance to Brickell, and is a 15,000-square-foot lot is rather unheard of for South Miami Avenue,” Hecht told TRD. “You look up and see high-rises; it’s uncommon.

” The property, at 1555 South Miami Avenue, features 13 indigenous trees, including live oaks. It last sold for $335,000 in 2003, according to Miami-Dade property records. Before that, it sold for $742,500 in 2002. Miguel and Alina Baena own the home, which was built in 2013. Baena is president of South Pointe Construction & Development. 

“They’re selling because they’re builders,” Hecht said.

 “The market is very good, and they decided to continue on doing what they do, which is build and sell luxury single-family homes.” The home is on the market for about $680 per square foot, which is lower than a condo, not taking maintenance fees into account, Hecht said. The property is within walking distance of the planned Brickell City Centre, Swire Properties’ $1.05 billion mixed-use development; as well as Mary Brickell Village, which was completed in 2006.
