James Corner of James Corner Field Operations presented his plans for Lincoln Road last night to about 100 beach residents and stakeholders. There was a mixture of criticism and complements, reports the Miami Herald, and the world finally found out what Corner wants to do with the astroturf oval in the center of the road: turn it into a fountain, continuing his emphasis on water in the design of the project. The fountain would be able to be turned off and used as an outdoor performance space. It would also have a mesh-like light installation overhead, so there you go.
