Whatever you think of Brickell City Centre, the mammoth mixed-use construction project is nothing if not awe inspiring. One of the biggest physical signs of Miami's growth and prosperity, it's easy to look at the renderings by architecture firm Arquitectonica and think it's too huge, too generic, and urbanistically questionable. A tour inside the construction site, experiencing the megaproject's extraordinarily dynamic interior spaces, and how it isn't hermetically sealed from the outside world at all (as some feared the experience might be) but instead plays with the surrounding city in a surprisingly vertical, three-dimensional way, throws all of those conceptions of the project in doubt. Brickell City Centre's Phase I is on schedule to be completed and mostly occupied by the end of the year, except for the retail spaces, which will be operational by the end of 2016.
