While Sunset Harbor continues to undergo major reconstructive surgery to its roads and buildings another project has been approved by the Miami Beach Design Review Board.
The four-story commercial project at 1824 Alton Road was been unanimously approved by the board on Tuesday, per The Real Deal, paving the way for a 109,000-square-foot project that will feature a 160-seat restaurant, over 11,000 square feet of ground retail, over 15,000 square feet of second-floor retail, and 130 parking spaces on its top two floors.
The attractive space along the traffic-laden Alton Road was previously occupied by a Chevron gas station before an affiliate of Saber Real Estate Advisors purchased the property for $7.3 million last year and leveled it.
The Kobi Karp-designed building will also wisely have its garage entrance on 18th street and not Alton. What a disaster the latter would be.
