The nine-bedroom, 15-bathroom waterfront compound owned by Alan Potamkin that was initially listed for $67 million last May has altered its sales strategy.
Instead of offering the 2.1-acre property with the home and the adjacent 1.5-acre lot next door as a package deal, Potamkin has split the listing into two, per The Real Deal, with the mansion publicly asking $49 million as of today.
The house sits on one of the most coveted parcels in South Florida, a 91,000-square-foot lot with 530 feet of bay frontage (157,000 square feet and 937 feet of frontage previously). The estate actually drew the interest of LeBron James back in 2010 before he officially announced his intention to join the Miami Heat.
The three-story home was built in 2000 and features multiple kitchens, a 1,500-bottle wine room, his and hers libraries, and not one, not two, but three powder rooms. It includes an elevator, multiple fireplaces, saltwater aquariums and an outdoor entertaining area fit for a prince, with a Biscayne Bay-laden backyard.
Will the new $49-million ask engender more interest?
