Take a second to wrap your head around the major, mixed-use development (ironically?) named Oasis and planned for Hallandale Beach, just north of Gulfstream Park. As South Florida Business Journal reports, the project is being designed by Bermello Ajamil & Partners, and will include hotel, office, retail, and residential components. The 10-acre site will have two 26-story residential towers with a total of 500 units, one 20-story mixed-use tower connected to another 10-story mixed-use tower, and a one-story commercial building. That's almost 60,000 square feet of office space, 34,000 square feet of commercial, and over 1,500 parking spaces.
Oasis will undergo a public review held by the Hallandale Beach's design review committee on September 3rd, so we'll just have to wait and see if Hallandale Beach believes that bigger is better. Knowing them, a town eternally googly-eyed for its neighbor Sunny Isles Beach, the answer is probably yes.—Alexandra J Miller
