A two-story penthouse at the top of Icon Brickell, the megaproject perhaps most symbolic of the highs and lows of the Miami real estate boom that dramatically went bust in 2008, has been on the market for slightly less than a year, listed at $2.5 million. The apartment has three bedrooms, three baths, sweeping views in lots of directions, and a rooftop terrace that feels more like a rather monumental outdoor room.
Although the three buildings that make up Icon Brickell may be examples of that good ol' Miami decadence, a concrete Icarus that flew too close to the sun, the apartment is slightly more reserved. And that's a good thing. The 2,172 square foot unit is not one of those bonkers, over-the-top palaces in the sky, but instead just a rather nice, roomy condo, with sleek modern interiors, and the one feature that really takes the cake, that outdoor room.
