Gil Dezer’s highly anticipated Porsche Design Tower in Sunny Isles is on the cusp of completion but his team could suffer a pricey hiccup during development, with the condo association for the neighboring Millenium tower filing a lawsuit, per the Real Deal, alleging the condo “suffered millions of dollars in damages” during construction.
The dispute, according to Millenium’s complaint, began in 2013 when Porsche’s development team began installing foundation sheet pilings for the tower’s development site at 18555 Collins Avenue. Not long afterward, cracks began appearing next door in the 34-story Millenium’s lobby, parking garage and pool deck.
After hiring engineering professors from FAU, they concluded the cracks were caused by “excessive vibrations” during construction of the tower next door. Additionally, the suit claims concrete overspray splashed over, butchering the paint job.
Damages were valued at $4 million so far.
The 60-story Porsche Design Tower is one of the most unique luxury developments in development in South Florida, highlighted by its glass car elevators known as Dezervators. Check out a preview of the $33 million penthouse here.
