Come December, the sound of construction should start for Uptown Atlantic, a mixed-use development in Delray Beach.
While a September 2014 brochure had originally listed the 314,000 s.f. Community Redevelopment Agency initiated project as having 49,000 s.f. of retail, 47,000 s.f. of class A office space, and 116 apartments, the numbers (like the colors of the building, which have ranged from red as shown above to blue) seem to have changed a bit.
The Sentinel now reports smaller office space as 23,000 s.f., 39 townhomes, and 73 apartments--and Roxanne Register, the project's leasing broker Boca's Katz & Associates, reported that a grocery store will fill 20,000 s.f. of retail space. The map below from 2014 shows how it will fit within the existing community, near the Fire Department Headquarters.
By 2017, the project should be ready for public use. Developer Equity Enterprises USA Inc. If you're interested in a deep dive, review their 85-page proposal from 2013 here.
