Miami real estate tycoon Jorge Perez, The Related Group’s Chairman, has made a couple of big personal moves of late, listing his penthouse at One Ocean in South Beach for $20 million while also purchasing a unit at Auberge Beach Residences & Spa Fort Lauderdale for $2.4 million.
"We're very proud of the neighborhood and value we created for Miami Beach, particularly South of Fifth," Pérez said via press release. "We started selling One Ocean in 2012 at $1,100 psf, which seems crazy today."
Now who knows the true intention behind the two-pronged move, as it could’ve been done for reasons beyond a personal investment. The Related Group is the developer of both buildings.

His new 15th-floor unit at Auberge has two bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a den, measuring 1,800 square feet while offering ocean views.
Perez’s standout 7,500-square-foot penthouse unit with four bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms at One Ocean was purchased for $4.23 million and is now asking a surreal $5,669 a foot.
