LIFE & STYLE
BEST PLACES TO HAVE A SUNDAY BRUNCH

It’s called the “Sunday Feast” for a reason, and Cecconi's at the Soho House Miami knows how to brunch. Enjoy an extensive buffet at the restaurant’s intimate and airy outdoor courtyard located on the ground floor of the hotel. There are five categories to choose from including the egg station; Sweet station featuring waffles, pancakes, pastries and more; Raw bar with oysters, salmon and shrimp; The Carving station; and the Col Cuts area. One complimentary Bellini or a glass of orange or grapefruit juice is included. Brunch is $45, excluding taxes and gratuity. Driving there? Valet parking is 50% off ($11).

You’ll start with bottomless Bloody Marys or Japanese sangria. Once you’ve had a drink, move on to the open sushi bar and enjoy sushi, sashimi, and maki rolls, and then spend some time at the robata counter for soups, salads, cold and warm dishes. It’s now time for your main entrée and you have a choice of Angus skirt steak, barley miso corn-fed baby chicken, salt grilled sea bass, or assorted vegetables. Finish it all off with Zuma’s signature dessert platter served with fruits, ice creams, and sorbets.

OK, so, technically it’s lunch but anything before 2 p.m. on a Sunday falls squarely into the brunch territory and Hakkasan serves up dim sum from noon to 3 p.m. This Chinese restaurant at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel offers four different prix-fixe menus (Dynasty, Emperor, Temple and Forbidden City) and the guest receives all the dishes of any one menu. While you’re at Hakkasan, we encourage you take a peek at their critically acclaimed cocktail menu. Dim Sum is $28 per person and does not include drinks or gratuity.

This legendary champagne brunch remains popular due to the plethora of offerings: a breakfast station with omelettes, pancakes, waffles, French toast, bacon, sausage, then move onto the carving station for prime rib, lamb, pork and fresh fish, and then it’s tapas, salads like madras curry chicken and mango chutney salad, watermelon with feta cheese, blue crab and avocado salad, and pesto orzo salad with spicy lamb sausage. Then it’s a sushi station, and a seafood, caviar, and raw bar. A pasta station and a dessert bar complete with a chocolate fondue station make this a food lover’s dream. And this lovely feast sits in a Mediterranean-style courtyard in the historic Biltmore Hotel.

A jazz brunch with flowing Taittinger bubbly and international cuisines including American, Chinese, French, Thai and Indian. You’ll find your breakfast staples like almond croissants, buttermilk pancakes, and Belgian waffles alongside butter chicken, grouper curry and pea pilau, barbecue pork buns, tom kha gai, pad thai, beef rendang, roasted leg of lamb, mini cheese burgers, oysters and an array of desserts like lavender and honey crème caramel, strawberry crème fraiche panna cotta, and much more. Enjoy live Jazz entertainment at the outdoor courtyard.

Nikki Beach’s brunch is a feast for all of your senses. Their world famous Sunday brunch features a wide array of dishes with multiple live cooking stations. Yes, you’ll find the omelet station, carving station, the sushi station and the crepe station. Yes, there are waffles, bagels, muffins, pasta cooked to order and desserts for days. But be sure to also make your way to the colorful Marabella paella station for Nikki’s version of the famous Valencian paella. Cooked with the authentic 36-inch pan, Nikki’s paella is a mix of lightly spiced chicken, calamari, New Zealand mussels, clams, shrimp and chorizo combined with savory saffron rice, red peppers and garden peas.

More importantly, this is where you’ll find the sun, sand, and music. Nikki’s beachfront, daylong, Sunday brunch party is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dine for $42.95 per person, children under 12 years and older get 50% off. Come for the culinary delights, have some beach time and take a dip at the nearby ocean and stay for the party, which lasts well into the next morning.
